Report from Michael Johnson, our Archivist and joint Walk leader:

It all went very well; even the weather behaved, providing a stunning sunset to match DLK's own Harvest painting.

I led the first half, essentially to get the group onto the ridge via Tinkers Hill, Hangman's Hill and Broad Downs with stops along the way to present information and tales about the immediate area and the Hills in general. This created some quite lively discussions with many on the walk chipping in with their own knowledge and experiences.

At "Clutter's Cave" I handed over to Mike Averill who continued leading the walk, stopping at points to compare DLK's paintings with the real views, along with readings from various sources to provide a broader perspective. We finished at 'Barry Jackson's house' and memorial plaque, where copies of our alternative town walk and society membership forms were distributed upon request.

A great evening, well enjoyed with excellent feedback.

- Thanks goes to Mike Averill and Michael Johnson for organising this walk.
